about me

 

Hello, my name is Katie V.  First, I love to cook; I have been cooking for my family since before I was tall enough to reach the stove.  I come from a very large family with six kids plus my two parents. Cooking in my house was never a small feat!  My dad is from England, and has always been a gourmet cook, my parent’s favorite magazine was Bon Appétit. 

 

Ever since I was little, I have always enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen.  While I received my Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Barbara, I spent some time working as a Prep Chef and a Pastry Chef in the restaurant industry.  I enjoyed my time there and all the knowledge gained, but it helped me realize my true passion… teaching others to share my love of cooking!  I rounded out my preparation to teach by receiving my Personal Chef and Advanced Baking & Pastry Certificates from Santa Barbara City College.
